Guest of Honor - Elder Michel Manning

We had the wonderful experience of receiving an invitation for Elder to speak at the monthly Bangrak Rotary Club meeting in April.  The members of this Rotary Club are among our closest friends here in Thailand.  We have had the privilege and honor of serving alongside them in donating wheelchairs, blankets, and mosquito nets to hundreds of Thais all over the country.

Mr. Krairat Watson, the Chairman of the Wheelchair Committee, invited Elder to give a speech explaining how the Church has helped people all over the world but especially here in Thailand.  The Church and the Bangrak Rotary partner together to donate needed items year round to the Thai people, and as Public Affairs Specialists for the Church, we get to attend the gifting ceremonies with the Rotary and with the Humanitarian couple, the Goodsons.  These trips are always filled with much laughter, hard work, meaningful service, and LOTS of food!  The Rotary members LOVE to eat!!  And they do know how to eat!  They have introduced us to some fantastic restaurants and some amazing cuisine.  But mostly, they have introduced us to the significance of being a member of the Rotary, whose motto is "service above self", and these people fully abide by that motto.  Because of Elder's speech, I believe they now more fully understand why the Church works so hard at serving people around the world - because we are all brothers and sisters of a God who loves each one of us and desires us to take care of each other.

It was a distinct honor to have been invited to share in their meeting.  We look forward to serving alongside them for the remainder of our mission here and pray for further opportunities to witness to them every chance we get about the love of our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, whose servants we are.  We are so blessed to be His servants here in Thailand!

Wonderful speech about the Church's service to the Thai people.
